A Fammily StoryThe first England Census was 1841. Now Arthur Peter was dead, buried in 1828. But Ann(e) Peter his wife would still be living and we will look for her with her son(s). Now the odd rules of 1841 census age rounding come into play and at best gives a age span to look for to help connect the dots. The rule is that the above 15 (some used 20) is to be rounded down to the nearest multiple of 5. That is a person aged 68 would be rounded down to being listed as 65. The rounding itself was subject to some human error and also at time not even done. So there we are. The remaining members of the known family are mother Ann Peter now aged 64a or 60 rounded down; Edward Peter aged about 35 so not rounded and listed at 35; John Peter aged 33a so rounded down to 30; and then Arthur Peter age 25 so not rounded and listed at age 25. We also look to see if any of the family is still at Langston(e). If some are not we hope to ID them by name and ages (rounded).

Edward Peter is no longer found as he had died at age 43 in 1849. It would seem that John and Arthur have divided Langston(e) between the two of them. And John Peter is married to Mary and Arthur is still unmarried at age 25. Now look and see if you find Arthur Peter married to Mary (Budge) Peter with daugther Ann Peter living at Langston(e) on the 1861 census.
