So . . . Prove It To Me

I cannot - For though I were an angel from heaven and were to declare it to you, you would not believe it, except for the confirming witness of the Spirit of God to your spirit and soul within you. Until you have that witness from God, you will not know of the book's truthfulness. Nor do you know of a surety that Jesus is the Christ without that very same witness. You only have the sayings of men. For men argue with logic the pros and cons of the earth and still they do not resolve them. It is not the words of men that prove the Book of Mormon to be true. For it could be argued and discussed continually, and opposing minds would never conclude upon it. This is the case with the Bible also. Men constantly argue of its validity, what portions of it are true or not, and even whether Christ existed or was even indeed the actual Messiah. And thus, as in all such things, one must obtain their witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon from God as well.

Like a debate topic in school, an endless amount of evidence can be gathered pro and con. But what is true concerning the spiritual things of God lies in the hands of God, and the only way to find the truth of the matter is from Him. Therefore;

Thus the proof is as it should be. It is between God and the individual, a personal witness as it were. Christ has always required 'faith' and the test of the Book of Mormon is properly laid out on that basis. Read the book for yourself. Do not rely on the voice of any man. See if the words of the book are not the words of God. Once you have read for yourself and have a first hand experience and are not reliant upon the voice or opinion of another, seek God's answer as to the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon according to the above quoted challenge of Moroni. Pray sincerely to God and ask him to reveal the truthfulness of the book to you. Then you will know of yourself and then you can judge for yourself. Don't believe what men may say when you can know for yourself directly from God. You can obtain the book free or you can find it on line on the internet.

'I know the Book of Mormon to be the true Word of God. I have had and continue to have that witness to my inner being given by the Spirit of God, even the Holy Ghost, that it is true. And to me the physical and spiritual evidences are overwhelming to its truthfulness. But, first I had to gain a witness from God that it was true. Else I too would be in a constant state of debate with being turned by every wisp of wind on the matter and having to re-debate it over and over in my mind against the opinions of men. That I do not have to do, for I have the sure witness of God that it is true.'
