There is little question that this is all one and the same family. The only question seems to be
just how much of this family's surname is merely differentiated due to scrible writer and eventual
transcriber and/or just how much is actually being determined due to there being two actual separate
and distinct families, one Hender and the other Hendra. The marriage record is recorded as Hender,
as are two of the early children, yet most of the children are of record as being Hendra or at least
per today's transcription of it. It is true that Hender has been variously scribed and transcribed
as 'Hinder', 'Henden', 'Hender', 'Hendor', 'Hendy' and even 'Hendra' and 'Hendre'. When so many of
the people relied upon the 'education' of the clergy to get things 'right' and it can be seen that
such do have not only a variety of manners of writing but also of '?spelling?' and even of
transcription and that is not even considering modern transcriber's muddling in the unfamiliar
territory of the written forms of the past writer.
